As a standard component of MediaBin v4, the TeamSite® Connector enables TeamSite users to quickly locate and utilize rich media assets maintained within a MediaBin Asset Server. Using the TeamSite Connector yields substantial benefits, including:
Brand Consistency: Ensuring that published renditions of digital assets are always properly formatted and up-to-date across all Internet-based applications.
Increased Productivity - Speed and Cost Savings: The TeamSite Connector enables TeamSite users to quickly render images from MediaBin into TeamSite in exactly the right size and format. Jobs that used to represent a time-consuming manual process are now easily automated, speeding web publishing tasks while reducing costs.
The TeamSite Connector was built over a Services Oriented Architecture to exploit the XML Web Services of MediaBin Asset Server v4. Using Web Services to integrate TeamSite with MediaBin means that the MediaBin resources are all accessed via standard HTTP connections, making it as easy to connect to MediaBin server across the Internet, as it is to work within your own intranet.
When used in conjunction with TeamSite Templating, the connector allows business users to easily associate Data Content Records with original image assets and other documents maintained in MediaBin. When the data record is previewed or generated to a web page through a Presentation Template, the connector automatically requests a properly-formatted rendition of the original asset from MediaBin. This means that thousands of images can be automatically formatted to the proper dimensions and format, simply by editing a Presentation Template. Now, rich media content is as easily manipulated within TeamSite as textual data and code.
Also, when source assets within MediaBin are revised, renditions of those assets within TeamSite are updated automatically whenever the site is regenerated from TeamSite. This means that the days of inadvertently using out-of-date images and logos on the web site are over!
