Interwoven Named One of the 100 "Best Places to Work in the Bay Area for 2006"
ECM Solutions Leader Among Top Ten High-Technology Companies to Receive Coveted Award for Second Consecutive Year; Recognized for Strong Management, Corporate Culture, and Values
SUNNYVALE, Calif. - April 17, 2006 - Interwoven, Inc. (Nasdaq: IWOV), provider of Enterprise Content Management (ECM) solutions for business, today announced that for the second consecutive year it has been named one of the 100 "Best Places to Work in the Bay Area for 2006" by The San Jose/Silicon Valley Business Journal, The San Francisco Business Times, and The East Bay Times. In select company, Interwoven was one of the top ten high-technology businesses that made the prestigious list. Interwoven was recognized based on an overwhelming response from employees who gave the company high marks in a number of areas including trust in senior management, corporate culture, company policies, benefits offerings, and feeling valued.
"I am extremely honored that Interwoven has again been recognized as one of the best places to work in the Bay Area," said Max Carnecchia, president at Interwoven. "Our employees both here in Silicon Valley and across the globe truly are our most valuable asset and we're committed to rewarding this talent by consistently improving upon the benefits we offer, as well as creating a supportive working environment that promotes innovation, hard work, results, and respect. It's a tremendous achievement to have our employees recognize Interwoven's success in establishing such a positive working environment."
The annual list was compiled based on results from a survey of more than 100,000 Bay Area workers across industries in Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, San Francisco, San Mateo, Santa Clara, Santa Cruz, and Solano counties. Over 400 entries were received for this year's award.
According to the publishers of The Silicon Valley/San Jose Business Journal, The San Francisco Business Times, and The East Bay Business Times: "Even in the most challenging times, there are some companies that never take their eyes off the importance of investing in their most valuable assets-the ones that walk out the door every evening. There is much to be learned from these companies. Which is why we are shining the spotlight on companies with practices that help them attract, retain, and grow the most engaged workforces. These companies know that an engaged workforce is a productive workforce, and ultimately that has a positive impact on the bottom line."
"People come to Interwoven because of our energy, positive corporate culture, and passion for what we do," said Katherine Mancuso, vice president of human resources at Interwoven. "Our people are the primary focus at Interwoven since every individual role and contribution are vital to our continued success. Because of this, we are committed to creating an environment that not only enriches employees lives while they are at work, but one that also fosters a strong sense of satisfaction and self-reward that they can take home with them each evening."
Winning companies were evaluated based on employee responses to a 38-question satisfaction survey on a range of topics including work climate and culture, management practices, and specific policies and benefits. Employee responses were entirely anonymous. Specific questions focused on whether and how the company encourages, supports, and recognizes achievement; open communication; fairness of compensation; and relationships with coworkers and immediate supervisors. To be eligible for the Best Places to Work list, completed questionnaires were needed from at least 50 percent of a company's employees.
