Interwoven Web Content Management Solution Enables Organizations to Improve Operational Efficiency Across All Web-Based Initiatives
SUNNYVALE, Calif. – September 27, 2004 – Interwoven, Inc. (Nasdaq: IWOV), provider of Enterprise Content Management (ECM) solutions for business, today announced that Christchurch City Council, New Zealand has selected Interwoven’s leading content management software, TeamSite, as its web content management solution to power its public Website http://www.ccc.govt.nz/, as well as its secure employee intranet, and 40 Christchurch city domain sites that it manages.
Serving as a gateway to Christchurch City Council information and services, the Christchurch City Council Website has the responsibility of making the experience of citizens and visitors interacting with the Council easy, convenient and enjoyable. “Every aspect of our website should be tied into decisions we make about how to better service the citizens and visitors of Christchurch,” said David Wallace, CMS implementation project manager at Christchurch City Council. “TeamSite will certainly help us achieve this goal. It's all about improving the quality of our visitor interactions."
Interwoven TeamSite Content Server software extends access to all business users and enables them to maintain control and distributed ownership of content across the enterprise. TeamSite provides the foundation for enterprises implementing Web content management for powering Internet, extranet, and intranet solutions.
Prior to selecting Interwoven, making changes to the Council’s site was very time consuming, with a group of people at Christchurch City Council tasked with manually managing the escalating volume of content. Versioning and workflow were both enormous challenges for any Web updates to occur, and changes could take days and even weeks to take effect. Christchurch City Council proceeded with TeamSite after what David Wallace said was “a very diligent and rigorous tendering process,” which involved extensive evaluation of the 20 plus submissions it received following its RFP issued in 2003, reference site checking, evaluation of product functionality with internal user panels, and extensive checking of suppliers support and services capability.
“To achieve what we wanted, we needed a sound, robust and flexible content management platform, which TeamSite provides,” said Wallace. “Investing in a solution that will have longevity within the market was also important, as was the need for it to be open and flexible enough to manage future rollout plans. Interwoven was the only company to suitably meet all the requirements of the very detailed RFP document we issued.”
The installation will encompass approximately 40 sites, including the Christchurch Art Gallery (Te Puna o Waiwhetu), the Christchurch City gateway site and various festival and leisure sites. “TeamSite is one of the major tools that is enabling us to move towards an enterprise view of the Web,” said Wallace. “All you can ask for from a product is that it does what it says it will, which TeamSite has proven to do. We have seen great success so far with all users embracing the product. It fits our needs perfectly, and if we ever have questions or need assistance Interwoven provides outstanding support.”
“We are delighted to welcome Christchurch City Council to the family of TeamSite users in government, joining such organizations as the Local Government Association of Queensland (LGAQ), Queensland Treasury and the Department of Natural Resources, Minerals & Energy (NRM&E),” said Richard Collins, managing director, Australia and New Zealand, Interwoven. “It is rewarding to see organizations such as Christchurch City Council embracing solutions from Interwoven that have a positive impact on the community as a whole."
