Certified Test Establishes Industry Leading Performance Promoting Server Consolidation with 2,500 Concurrent Users

SUNNYVALE, Calif. - October 28, 2002 - Interwoven, Inc. (Nasdaq: IWOV), a world leader in Enterprise Content Management (ECM), today announced the results of a recent performance and scalability test staged at Sun's lab. These tests running TeamSite on the Sun Enterprise 4500 server in combination with Sun StorEdge arrays supported an unprecedented 2,500 concurrent users as they performed a real life content contribution scenario.

TeamSite also showed excellent multiprocessor scalability from two to eight CPUs. In the test case, users created content and "submitted" the results of their work to a shared QA, or staging, area. In tests with up to 2,500 concurrent users, in which 10% of the users performed the submit operation, the average processing-time between operations averaged only 60 seconds. This performance test was run on the previous generation of Sun servers. Even higher performance would be achieved on Sun's current generation of servers such as the Sun Fire which currently have clock speeds of 900 MHz to 1050 MHz processors.

The Interwoven 5 platform's scalability promotes server consolidation and allows enterprises to maintain high throughput as the amount of content, number of users, and application integrations increase. The Sun performance test validates Interwoven's scalability, which supports a higher number of concurrent users than its competitor with 2,500 on a single server.

Interwoven 5 allows customers to realize:

- Architectural extensibility to scale vertically and horizontally

- Immediate cost savings through server consolidation

- Lower total cost of ownership per user and per project

This performance test supported 2,500 concurrent users on a Sun Enterprise 4500 server running Solaris Operating Environment. The system was configured with 12 UltraSPARC II 750MHz CPUs, with an average processing-time between operations averaging only 60 seconds.
