Atlanta, December 6, 2001 - MediaBin Inc. today announced that Samsonite Corporation (Nasdaq:SAMC) has licensed the MediaBin 2.0 brand asset management platform to manage and deliver media content for its Web sites and retail partners.
The Samsonite name is known worldwide, and the quality and consistency of the company’s images, logos and marketing materials are essential for maintaining its brand equity. Samsonite’s Web and graphics teams support Websites throughout the Americas and also supply product photos and logos to retail partners like May Company, Federated, Sears & Roebuck and J.C. Penney. MediaBin will enable these teams to ensure brand integrity while speeding the production and distribution of marketing assets for use both online and in print.
"We saw an immediate return on our investment in MediaBin 2.0 by producing all of the graphics for our U.S. Web site two weeks ahead of schedule," said Nick Macera, Samsonite’s director of information technology. "Additionally, MediaBin feeds our Interwoven Web content management system. We plan to use MediaBin 2.0 on an extranet for our licensees to access our brand manual, for our retail partners to access product photos, and for our printed collateral."
"I have seen nothing like MediaBin - it is intuitive to use, and I believe it has huge potential for any business that is concerned about the integrity of its brands," Macera continued.
"Samsonite is a great example of a company that is using low-risk technology investments like MediaBin 2.0 to create immediate benefits," said David Moran, MediaBin’s president and CEO. "The company had a tight deadline, realized an almost immediate ROI and now has the infrastructure to better promote its brands."
