Interwoven Receives Highest Marks Overall in Product Functionality, Usability, Technology and Market Strength
SUNNYVALE, California - September 4, 2001 - Interwoven, Inc. (Nasdaq: IWOV), the leading provider of Content Infrastructure, today announced that SPEX, a division of META Group, has just completed their latest benchmark study on content management and Web publishing, and in a thorough evaluation of the latest version of Interwoven's flagship product, TeamSite 5.0 software, Interwoven was a winner in all four evaluation categories: functionality, usability, technology and market strength.
"SPEX's benchmark study reinforces our technology leadership in the content management marketplace," said Kevin Cochrane, vice president of product management at Interwoven. "We're pleased that SPEX has recognized what our Global 2000 customers and partners are already telling us: that Interwoven is clearly the leader in product functionality, usability, technology and market strength."
The SPEX report covers leading content management solutions and helps enterprise buyers make more informed decisions. Key selection drivers for this evaluation were integration and architecture, content creation, content life-cycle management, workflow, indexing and searching, Web publishing, personalization and site management and security. Including Interwoven, a total of seven content management software packages were each evaluated.
The SPEX report credited Interwoven TeamSite as being "a powerful package that provides significant value through its core functionality and peripheral features." The evaluation showed an excellent rating, making TeamSite a top choice for prospective content management users.
"Over the past year, recognition for content management has gone from being an optional software package to a core business infrastructure, needed to effectively manage any Website or content in general," said Derek Keefer, research analyst at SPEX. "Implementation success relies on proper definition of existing or new business processes and reasonable anticipation of infrastructure and operations costs resulting from the implementation."
The analyst report, entitled Content Management and Web Publishing, issued in August 2001, defines the new CMW space, emerging between the more established document management and electronic commerce markets. It reviews the current characteristics of this growing market (players, leaders, trends) and provides in-depth, comparative product positioning analysis.
