Andersen Consulting Recommends Interwoven's Enterprise-Class Content Management Solutions for CareerJournal.com and Future Vertical Web Sites
Sunnyvale, Calif. - December 11, 2000 - Interwoven, Inc. (Nasdaq: IWOV), the leading provider of enterprise-class content management software, today announced that The Wall Street Journal has selected Interwoven to manage global content for CareerJournal.com and future vertical Web sites. Andersen Consulting has won the business to re-design and re-architect the sites for The Wall Street Journal.
"This content management system will play a key role in expanding our successful vertical products strategy -- which includes a network of targeted properties that focus on careers, leisure, entrepreneurial ventures, and other customer interests," said Scott Schulman, vice president of Dow Jones & Company, the publisher of The Wall Street Journal. "With Andersen Consulting and Interwoven, we are building sites that will be highly dynamic and interactive therefore making them much more appealing to our visitors." Andersen Consulting recommended TeamSite software to The Wall Street Journal because of its proven compatibility with The Wall Street Journal's existing technologies including Microsoft Commerce Server 2000.
"Interwoven's strategic relationship with Microsoft and its tight integration with Commerce Server 2000 made it a natural fit for the Wall Street Journal's vertical sites," said David Daigle, associate partner at Andersen Consulting. "Andersen Consulting has built a flexible and scalable publishing platform for The Wall Street Journal's vertical sites to suit their needs today and in the future."
Non-technical editors of the vertical-sites will use TeamSite Templating to make additions and changes to the Web sites in a timely manner while enforcing a common look and feel for all contributions. This common look and feel will also give The Wall Street Journal sites' visitors ease of navigation.
A critical criteria for the selection of TeamSite was its ability to serve the intensive development demands during the Andersen Consulting re-architecture phase. Equally important was the ability to empower the Wall Street Journal non-technical contributors to contribute content to the Web site. Andersen Consulting system architects will manage the development of content and application code for the vertical sites using Interwoven TeamSite. Once completed and implemented, Andersen Consulting will turn the software and sites over to Dow Jones to have its technical and non-technical contributors maintain the sites and manage the creation of new content.
Implementation will be on a site by site basis. CareerJournal.com was the first implemented site and went live in early December and will soon be followed by new sites.CareerJournal.com is a free site for executives with content coming from the editorial resources of The Wall Street Journal, published by Dow Jones & Co., and the CareerJournal.com editorial team. Content includes daily updates of critical news, features and trends.
