Partnership of Web Leaders Will Help Customers Accelerate Time to Web
SUNNYVALE, Calif., November 15th, 1999 - Interwoven Inc. (NASDAQ:
IWOV), a leading provider of content management software for the enterprise
Web, today announced an alliance with Cisco Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ: CSCO),
the worldwide leader in networking for the Internet. Under the agreement,
Interwoven will team with Cisco to co-develop Web content management best
practices, align market strategies and jointly market solutions to customers.
The combination of Interwoven's TeamSite Web content management system
and Cisco's Internet Business Solutions provides a robust infrastructure
for customers to optimize and accelerate their transformation to eBusiness.
"The ability to manage and publish content from disparate sources across
the enterprise is a key requirement for becoming a globally connected
organization," said Sue Bostrom, vice president of the Cisco Internet
Business Solutions Group. "The Interwoven solutions, with their open architecture
and secure transfer capabilities, are an important addition to the ways
we can help customers accelerate their online initiatives and rapidly
move to using the Internet to re-architect their businesses."
The synergy between Cisco and Interwoven creates a combined domain expertise
in helping customers build and maintain world-class Web sites. Interwoven
will benefit from Cisco's Internet business technology experience as well
as its market leadership in networking products and services. Both companies
will benefit through joint technical development and integration.
TeamSite software is an enterprise-class content management system which
allows companies to empower subject matter experts from across the organization
to contribute directly to Web sites while still maintaining central control.
Because TeamSite has an open architecture, it integrates with existing
data repositories and any application server or personalization engine.
TeamSite's companion product, OpenDeploy allows secure, transactional
transfer of content from the development environment to any number of
production servers.
"Today's enterprise wants to adopt proven best-of-breed internet technology
in order to leverage existing resources," said Joe Ruck, vice president
of marketing for Interwoven. "This partnership with Cisco emphasizes Interwoven's
leadership position in content management and allows us to demonstrate
our effectiveness to a greater number of companies side by side with Cisco."
